Apple launched its Final Cut Camera app for iOS on the App Store today that offers precise manual control over video capture with ISO, shutter speed, white balance and manual focus. The free app allows users to customize video resolution (720p, 1080p, or 4K) and frame rate (24fps, 30fps, and 60fps).
Final Cut Camera supports video recording in HEVC (H.265) and ProRes with Log color coding; the latter is limited to iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max devices. The user interface also shows your iPhone’s battery percentage and remaining storage.
Users who own an iPad and have an active subscription to Final Cut Pro for iPad can also access Live Multicam, which allows them to remotely preview, control, and sync up to four iPads and iPhones. You can then preview live and toggle all video recording controls from your iPad while filming with your iPhone.
