Let’s be honest, Samsung’s 2024 foldable lineup left a little to be desired. Fortunately, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 isn’t the only game out there, and you could argue that Motorola’s Razr Plus 2024 is the best compact foldable. Making the decision even easier is Motorola’s “Harvest Sale,” as is the Razr Plus. up to only $899.
But that’s not the only deal that can be struck, as Motorola is basically cutting prices across its entire lineup. Don’t want to spend $900 but still want a stylish foldable phone? He Razr Plus 2023 is $400 offmaking it a much more palatable $599. Are you looking for something even less expensive while still being able to save money by switching providers? The Razr 2024 is only $250 on cricket for new customers or $350 if you want to upgrade.
You might be wondering why you would choose one of Motorola’s foldable phones over the Galaxy Z Flip 6. While Samsung finally upgraded the main camera, Motorola made the same move with the Razr Plus 2024. It has a 50MP main lens and, as noted in our review, “images are sharp and detailed, with a good amount of contrast and saturation without being over the top.”
Another change Motorola made with its latest foldable phone is replacing the ultra-wide camera with a 2x telephoto lens. This may be a divisive decision, but doing so adds a bit more versatility to the Razr Plus 2024 rather than relying on an often poor ultrawide sensor.
Arguably the best deal to be found as part of Motorola’s “Harvest Sale” is the Razer 2024. It’s not the most powerful phone out there and may lack the “dynamics” that the Plus variant offers. But it’s not like you can just get a folding phone for less than $500, but you can get one for less than $300. It’s just not a price we expect Samsung (or any other company) to hit anytime soon, at least not one that offers the same experience as the Razr 2024.
Although Motorola was praised for the Razer 2023which hit the market for less than $700, there were too many compromises. That is to say, the “cover screen” was nothing more than a glorified camera bar that let you control music playback and view notifications.
Those concerns are gone with the Razr 2024, as you’ll now enjoy a 3.6-inch pOLED display. By doing so, you can use the full version of many apps without opening the Razr. Even if Motorola didn’t make any other significant additions, this would be reason enough to upgrade.
