Why ‘Loki’ Season 2 Finale Was a Relief for Tom Hiddleston

Were the fans the only ones who cried at the end of Loki? Tom Hiddleston recently spoke about how he felt filming the end of his Marvel series.

The series saw Tom Hiddleston really flex his acting muscles before the God of Mischief, ending with a perfect ending that serves as a capstone to his journey as a villain turned hero. When talking about how he felt during filming, Hiddleston described it as a wave of relief.

“I just felt a wave of relief because it had been a very meaningful experience. That feeling of… the exhale.” Hiddleston explained during a recent appearance on Variety Actors on actors. “It’s changed the entire course of my life, without a doubt.”

“Our brilliant directors found me and said, ‘What do you think you might want to say?’ I remember at the end of Thor the last thing he says is: ‘I could have done it, father, for you.’ For all of us.'”

“It is full of need, desperation, longing for acceptance and misguided intentions. He is full of his own broken heart. I thought, ‘I wonder if I should say that again.’ But it has a completely different meaning, which is full of love, sacrifice, altruism and generosity. “I just felt a wave of relief because it had been a very meaningful experience.”

It seems that Tom Hiddleston was so emotionally impacted at the end of Loki Just like any other Marvel fan! “I always saw Loki as a broken soul with a broken heart, deeply damaged by the fact that he was not loved. He is mischievous and playful on the surface, but he masks all this pain. What I have loved about this series is finding my way back to that vulnerable soul and healing that damage. Show that pain can be transformed into courage and strength.”

Tom Hiddleston hit the nail on the head when it came to what the ending meant for Loki as a character. The series saw him interact with himself (and other versions of himself) in a way fans had never seen before in a Marvel project. While it’s a shame to see it go, it was a great trip to see it go!
