No sane soul defends what happened on January 6, 2021.
Trump acolytes flooded the U.S. Capitol, clashed with District police officers and delayed the certification of the 2020 presidential election.
Gross. Unacceptable.
Except for the media and the Democrats, but we repeat ourselves, they turned a terrible day into a combination of Pearl Harbor and 9/11… combined. Their manipulation, done for blatantly partisan reasons, forever changed the political landscape and made it worse.
Just two examples?
They excused the shooting death of protester Ashli Babbitt and pretended a Capitol Police officer was there. Beaten to death by a Trump supporter.
And many people have suffered as a result, captured in not one but two movies Headed by actor/producer Nick Searcy.
Now, there’s a feature film that takes that progressive fever dream and turns it up to 11.
Maybe 12.
“War Game,” which opens in select theaters Aug. 2 and larger theaters Aug. 9, brings progressive fans together on Jan. 6 to wonder what might happen next.
Imagine if the Capitol invaders had real weapons or a coherent plan to take over the country, for example.
And, yes, retired Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman appears in the film, as does Bill Kristol, a Biden supporter who has never spoken out against Trump.
Need more Democrats to participate in this “bipartisan” film? Try former Senators Doug Jones and Heidi Heitkamp, former Governor Steve Bullock, and former General Wesley Clark. They all play “roles” in this “documentary.”
Did Liz Cheney’s agent miss a call?
Here is the official synopsis:
What will happen on January 6, 2025, when Congress meets to certify the 2024 presidential election? Will the duly elected candidate be confirmed, or will another, more successful attempt to subvert the democratic process unfold? Will government leaders be prepared? WAR GAME’s former government and military participants (Steve Bullock, Heidi Heitkamp, and Wesley Clark, among others) act out an immersive, fully-staged simulation in the White House Situation Room, as they confront a coup d’état launched by rogue elements within the U.S. military (one in five criminal defendants in the 1921 Capitol attack were military veterans). In collaboration with the nonpartisan organization Vet The voice of directors Jesse Moss and Tony Gerber (FULL BATTLE RATTLE) masterfully creates this believable nightmare, imagining the unthinkable in a breakneck race to save democracy [emphasis added].
Sounds very fair and balanced, doesn’t it?
Film critics got a chance to preview the film during this year’s Sundance Film Festival, and took turns lying about its bipartisan nature and praising its content.
Both Vulture and The New York Times called Kristol “conservative.” The Old Gray Lady called him ““conservative standard-bearer”. Yes, that’s accurate if the movie was released in 2004, not 2024.
The vulture nicknamed Kristol as “Never Trump, conservative.” More obfuscation.
These are not Blogspot websites, mind you. On these platforms it is still easy to manipulate the truth. And you thought that…? Corruption in the media began and ended on the front page?
At least Vulture admits that this is a progressive fantasy, though it doesn’t use that language.
You might notice that these are mostly Democratic figures, even though the simulation claims to be bipartisan… Vet Voice is a nonpartisan organization.
PS: It isn’t. Why would a nonpartisan group bring together so many Democrats in this way? Why does their “News” page reveal an enthusiasm for progressive causes?
And a A quick look at their website It shows no reason to support a project like this beyond partisan purposes.
Founded in 2009, the VV Foundation’s mission is to empower veterans across the country to become civic leaders and policy advocates by providing them with the support, training, and tools they need to continue their service and find new missions at home. The VVF Foundation seeks to harness the energy and drive of the dedicated men and women who have fought for their country and put them to work at home and in their communities on the important issues they face, such as the environment, voting rights, misinformation, healthcare, jobs, and more.
Most film critics praised the final product, though the left-leaning IndieWire noted its Reason for “preaching to the choir.”
There is a certain type of political junkie who will be deeply moved by the film, but that person already follows every member of its “cast” on Threads and has purchased 60 percent of its memoirs.
What is Threads again? Oh, the Twitter killer!
If January 6 was the nightmare we were told it would be, movies like “War Game” wouldn’t be necessary. The truth would suffice.
Editor’s note: It’s a brutal time to be a freelance journalist, but it’s never been more necessary given the sorry state of the corporate press. If you’re enjoying Hollywood on Toto, I hope you’ll consider dropping a coin (or two) in our Tip jar.
