vivo V40 series coming to India soon, V40 Pro has four 50MP Zeiss cameras


Vivo has officially confirmed that the V40 series will be coming to India “soon.” Even better, the company shared details about the vivo V40 Pro’s quad-camera 50MP display, which is “an enhanced collaboration with Zeiss.”

The main camera on the back features a 50MP Sony IMX921 sensor and has a Zeiss lens with OIS enabled. The IMX921 is a 1/1.56” sensor with 1.0µm pixels and is used in the vivo S19 ProThat phone looks pretty similar, by the way, but it’s not the V40 Pro (it has a different ultra-wide camera).

Next up, we have the 50MP telephoto camera with a Sony IMX816 sensor. This 1/2.51” sensor is the same one used in the V30 Pro. This will have a 2x optical zoom and a “Zeiss Hyper Zoom” of up to 50x.

Then there’s the 50MP ultra-wide camera. It has a 119° wide-angle lens, which is quite a bit better than the 8MP 106° module on the S19 Pro.

Finally, the 50MP selfie camera on the front has a 92° wide-angle lens. It sounds similar to what the V30 Pro had a punch-hole in its display.

Additional details about the phone include an IP68 rating, allowing it to survive 1.5m underwater for up to 30 minutes.
