ZDNET’s key findings
- He Yeedi M12 Pro+ It was initially available for $1,100, but a launch promotion brought the price down to $900. It’s now available with a Prime Day deal for $669.
- The Yeedi works as a high-end two-in-one robot, with 11,000 Pa of suction power, rotating brush technology to avoid hair tangles, and a self-washing station.
- Unfortunately, I had to create virtual boundaries around my medium-pile carpet as the mop pads repeatedly wet the soft surface, even though they are raised 9mm when on carpet.
Robot vacuum manufacturers have been outdoing each other lately, releasing more powerful and better vacuums than the competition in quick succession. Roborock launched its flagship model first S8 Max V Ultra with a powerful suction power of 10,000 Pa. However, the title of the most powerful robot vacuum cleaner on the market was short-lived. Just three days later, the Yeedi M12 Pro+ He won it, but was outdone by the $1,900 winner. Dreame X40 Ultra.

The new Yeedi M12 Pro+ offers me everything I always wanted but couldn’t get with the previous versions of the Yeedi robot vacuum and mop. The M12 Pro+ is a two-in-one hands-free robot that features 11,000Pa suction power, a self-emptying dust bin, extendable self-washing mops, a V-shaped rotating brush to prevent hair from getting tangled, and a spot cleaning function.
The charging base, where you charge the robot’s battery, empty the dust bin, and wash and dry the cleaning cloths, is more compact than some competitors, including the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra.

The suction power is evident as the robot makes its way around my home, which is home to my family of five and a very furry dog. No crumbs or hairs are a challenge for the Yeedi M12 Pro+, as it effortlessly picks up every scrap or piece of paper.
I wish it had better obstacle avoidance performance when approaching random objects on the floor. I can’t always pick up every little thing my kids throw on the floor or any sticks my dog drags through his doggie door before sending my robot out to clean, so object avoidance is a key feature for me. Being able to run my robot vacuum and mop automatically on a schedule is also important to me.
This M12 Pro+ robot had its brushroll get stuck several times on papers larger than it could handle, like sticky notes and protein bar wrappers—items I would have expected it to avoid.
Since I like a “set it and forget it” solution for floor cleaning, the fact that my robot eats and chokes on random bits of mulch or small toys is a deal breaker for my robot vacuum and mop. Mopping performance is another factor.
My house has mostly hardwood floors, with some tile and carpet, so I need a robot vacuum and a mop that performs well. Since my kids spill things and my dog walks in with muddy paws, I can’t just have any robot mop—I need one that picks up dirt between deep cleanings.

Yeedi’s robot vacuum and mop works pretty well for an $899 unit, and it even has a great mopping feature I haven’t seen on mid-range robots: TruEdge Adaptive Mopping, which extends mopping pads into corners and edges to clean in places the robot can’t get into. The mopping pads can automatically retract to avoid obstacles while mopping near edges.
I love watching the M12 Pro+ sweep across the floor, spreading out its mops and cleaning just like a person using a microfibre towel would. The dirty and clean water tanks are huge, with capacities of 3.5 and 4 litres respectively.
The mop pads automatically raise about 9mm when the robot covers carpets or rugs to keep them dry. I prefer a larger margin because the Yeedi Cube’s mop pads, which are raised 8mm, would constantly wet and dirty the medium pile of one of my rugs. For comparison, other robots that have never soiled my rugs include the Eufy X9 Pro and Eufy S1 Pro, both of which have mop pads raised 12mm, and the Roborock S8 MacV Ultra, which raises its mop 20mm.

He Yeedi M12 Pro+ It effectively wets my carpet when I set it to vacuum and mop simultaneously. I wash my carpets at least once every quarter, so this is less of an issue for me, but it could be a bigger issue for others. This only happened with medium-pile carpet, not the short-pile carpets in entryways, and the app allows for virtual boundaries, which worked great after I set them up.
The docking station’s cleaning sink completely detaches by pressing the two red buttons on the side, making this the easiest dock to clean I’ve seen. While you can run a self-cleaning feature in the app, detaching the sink where the mops are washed is very inconvenient, as that area gets dirty quickly.
ZDNET’s buying advice
He Yeedi M12 Pro+ This is a robot vacuum and mop that stands out at its $899 price point, especially with the additional $230 discount after Prime Day. It does have some drawbacks, such as the 9mm lower mop lift on carpets and the fact that it eats larger items than it can handle, but the numerous positives outweigh the negatives.
I’d venture to say that the M12 Pro+ and charging dock perform like a robot and mop that cost $1,500. These robots are getting more and more expensive with each new model, so having the chance to get a high-performance, self-cleaning robot vacuum and mop for $669 is a great deal in this market.
