Last year saw the arrival of Deadlocha fun new Australian murder mystery series in main video. Set in the titular fictional settlement in Tasmania, Deadloch centers on two unlikely detectives, Senior Sergeant Dulcie Collins (kate box) and Detective Eddie Redcliffe (Madeleine Sami) as they team up to solve crimes. Season 1 was a huge hit on Prime Video with Australian audiences and it wasn’t long before its popularity spread to other territories. Officially a global hit, Prime Video ordered a second season in June. The Hollywood Reporter now reports that production on the second chapter has begun and filming will take place in Darwin, Northern Territory and Brisbane, Queensland. A first-look image was also released showing the central pair of detectives and other returning cast members.
In season 1, Dulcie and Eddie investigated the murder of a man whose body was found on the beach while the sleepy little town was in the middle of its annual Winter Festival. Season 2 will see the couple again as they search investigate the death of Eddie’s former police partner, Bushy. However, things get even darker as they dive into another murder mystery when The body of a local icon is discovered in a remote village.. Season 2 will include 6 episodes, two fewer than the eight episodes that made up the first season.
With the first season scoring a perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes ratingseason two has a tough task on its hands if it wants to match that success. Amazon MGM Studios executives, however, are optimistic, with sara christianstudio director of Australian Originals, saying that the show’s creators, Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan “We have expertly crafted a A new and exciting mystery with its characteristic satirical comedy.but this time things are heating up on the high end.” The Rotten Tomatoes consensus on the series describes it like this: “An irreverent spin on the crime procedural, Deadloch’s addictive blend of mystery and biting humor makes the most “Some of its corpse-strewn competition look comparably stiff.”
The second season of ‘Deadloch’ welcomes new faces
In addition to Box and Sami, season 2 will see the return of nina oyama as Abby, a forensic specialist who was formerly a police officer, and Alicia Gardiner as Cath, Dulcie’s overbearing wife. The second season will introduce a new generation of interesting characters with its new cast, including Steve Bisley (The Great Gatsby), Sebbens (Thor: love and thunder), Genevieve Morris(No activity) Byron Coll, Nikki Britton (How to stay married), Antonio Sharpe, Blake Pavey, Damian Garveynewcomer Lennox Monaghan inter alia. series writer, Juan Tong (High distress) will also make his acting debut in the second season.
deadlock cAuthors McLennan and McCartney also write and produce the series, with Beck Cole and Graciela Otto running the show as directors. In a joint statement, the creators said: “[w]We are very excited to bring the second season of Deadloch to life in the beautiful Garramilla/Darwin, and we are beyond excited to work with this exceptional team and cast of actors, dogs and crocodiles. We can’t wait to share the new season with audiences around the world on Prime Video.“
Deadloch Season 2 currently has no release date, but Season 1 is available to watch on Prime Video.
