The Acolyte Episode 5, “Evening”, finally revealed that Qimir (Manny Jacinto) has been behind the Stranger’s mask all along and, as is typical, Star Wars As it turns out, this ended up raising more questions than it answered. For example, is he really a Sith or is he tricking the Jedi? In the last scene of the episode, when he finds Osha (Amandla Stenberg) was left unconscious in the jungle of Khofar, a section of Kylo Ren (Driver Adam) The sequel trilogy theme can be heard. That was enough to open the floodgates for speculation, and fans are now scratching their heads and wondering If the Stranger could be related in some way to Kylo or the Knights of Ren.His helmet also bears some similarities to Kylo’s, so that’s not entirely out of the question.
Who are the Knights of Ren in the story of ‘Star Wars’?
“Ghouls.” That’s what a stormtrooper aboard Kylo Ren’s flagship calls the Knights of Ren in Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of SkywalkerBy the time of the sequel trilogy, Knights don’t really have a good reputationand most of that comes from their history prior to Kylo Ren’s arrival as their master. They were first mentioned in Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakensbut not much else is said about them on screen, and they are quickly defeated by Ben Solo after he returns to the Light Side at the end of The Rise of Skywalker.
The events of the Sequel Trilogy do indeed make the Knights of Ren look bad and even incompetent, and some of that is explained in the comicsThey first appear in the 2020 miniseries. The Rise of Kylo Renmeeting Ben Solo and his teacher and uncle, Luke Skywalker (Marco Hamill) on the planet Elphrona. Luke easily defeats them, but their leader, a gray-haired man named Ren, senses Ben’s darkness and invites the boy to join them before fleeing. Sometime later, after Ben turns on Luke and destroys his Jedi Temple, he agrees to join the Knights of Ren, receiving a crash course in their philosophy. They are Force-sensitive marauders who idolize the Dark Side.which they call “the shadow,” and they see it embodied in their master’s red-bladed lightsaber, which they call “the Ren.” The Ren functions as a symbol of power for the Knights, and is what allows them to cause as much violence and destruction as they want, even if there seems to be no reason for it.
During the Imperial era, the Knights of Ren were already active under Ren’s leadership. They had many skirmishes with the Empire and even Darth Vader (James Earl Jones) himself, but It wasn’t until Ben Solo joined them that they truly became a force to be reckoned with.When that happens, the boy chooses another name and earns the title of Ren by killing the Knights’ former master, truly becoming Kylo Ren. He also bleeds his own kyber crystal, making his red-bladed lightsaber unstable.
“I have no name, but a Jedi such as you might call me… Sith.” This line, along with Kylo Ren’s theme that plays in the final scene, is what sparked speculation about who the Stranger really is. He does not do it He calls himself Sithand he doesn’t claim a Sith title like “Darth” – and the Sith brag about that, they want their enemies to know their names. He is simply stating that the Jedi would call him that, implying that the Jedi would likely call any Dark Side user a Sith, as the Sith are The Jedi’s Greatest Enemies.
Another clue is how Yord Fandar (Charlie Barnett) describes the Stranger’s fighting techniques. He says that the villain doesn’t follow the rules of combat and that there is no logic to his movements, making it difficult to counter him. In fact, there are times when it seems like the Stranger is simply hitting the Jedi with his red-bladed lightsaber, meaning that A Sith would likely display more skill and technique with a sword.In the comics, the Knights of Ren are all formidable warriors and opponents, but they also don’t seem to follow any patterns or fighting strategies, and usually win by simply overpowering their prey.
It is not known whether, at the time of The AcolyteThe Knights of Ren are either active or not, but they have Ancient origins in the canonolder than their modern counterparts during the New Republic era. Hailing from the Unknown Regions, they have been the subject of legends and tales for centuries about the dangers of venturing into uncharted territory without proper precautions. Still, The entire Stranger figure is more similar to the Knights of Ren aesthetic than the Sith.. His Cortosis HelmetWith a large smiling speaker, it seems designed to be creepy, like a monster from a horror tale that comes to swallow those who aren’t careful enough. Even the curvature at the back of the helmet is reminiscent of Kylo Ren’s helmet, especially after Its restoration inspired by kintsugi in The Rise of Skywalker.

It is still unclear whether Qimir is a Sith or a Knight of Ren.
The final scene of “Night” isn’t the only moment in the episode where Kylo Ren’s theme can be heard. Just as it begins, Osha wakes up to find NUGGET lying in the jungle, and that’s when we first hear the motif in a lower, slower version. It then plays again when Osha falls unconscious at the end of the episode, so This song marks the beginning and end of an episode where the Stranger is the one who shines.This may indicate the true beginning of the Knights of Ren, with the Stranger probably being the first Ren.
If it really turns out that the Stranger is a Knight of Ren, it means that this organization is really only going to go downhill after him. It’s hard to imagine Ren leading them to take on eight Jedi at once and emerge victorious. Since, in the comics, all it took was one Jedi, Luke Skywalker, to drive them away. The Rise of SkywalkerBen Solo easily beats them all as soon as he gets a weapon to even things out; at least in theory, the Knights know how to fight lightsaber-wielding enemies. They just lose miserably. The Stranger may be the first Ren, but it doesn’t seem likely that he will. his acolytes would end up being such incompetent warriors.
Another possibility is that the Stranger simply took up the Sith legacy after it had long been forgotten. It is possible that they became extinct a millennium ago, as Ki-Adi-Mundi (Silas Carson) infamously comments on Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menaceand were reborn when a drunken, Force-sensitive drifter like Qimir came into contact with their forgotten teachings. The Stranger would not have mentioned the Sith without purpose.whether it’s attacking the Jedi for their arrogance, marking the return of the Sith, or deceiving the Jedi. For the sake of his legacy, though, let’s hope he’s not a Knight of Ren.
