SwitchBot makes some pretty versatile hardware for Setting up a smart homeand beyond the usual array of cameras and switches, it offers solutions for things like How to make your blinds smartHowever, today we take a look at their latest robot vacuum offering, with the launch of the Mini Robot Vacuum K10+ Pro.

The basic idea behind SwitchBot’s approach to designing a robot vacuum as small as this one makes a lot of sense: a smaller diameter means the vacuum can fit into tighter spaces and get a little closer to the boundaries of the area it’s cleaning. Like the original K10+, the new Pro model launching today measures just 24.8cm wide.

Compared to the existing model, the Pro implements a few improvements. For one, SwitchBot expands on the K10+’s laser-based object avoidance system with a new Position Sensitive Detection (PSD) sensor, to help the vacuum better avoid unexpected obstacles, and bumping into things less often results in a quieter vacuuming experience. Performance gets a nice little boost, with suction power increasing from 2,500 to 3,000 pascals. And the presence of a rubber anti-tangle brush should be welcome news for owners of pets that like to shed.

The base of the unit has the same 4-liter capacity dust bag, which SwitchBot says is large enough that you only need to empty it once every 90 days. Plus, the Pro model has a new antibacterial treatment. And, like the regular K10+, the Pro is just 92mm tall, giving it just enough room to slide under a lot of furniture.

How much are these upgrades going to cost you? Well, the original K10+ retails for around $400, and the K10+ Pro will launch for around $600. If you’re a little hesitant about that price, how about that? You can get $180 off your purchase right now, effectively bringing the price of the K10+ Pro down to just $420.
