Meizu Note 21 and Note 21 Pro launch globally with 6.74-inch screen and 50 MP camera


After launching in China earlier this year, Meizu is now bringing its new Note 21 and Note 21 Pro phones to global markets. These mid-range models It offers solid specs at a likely lower cost, alongside the Meizu 21, which had been a China-only release. This is what each phone provides.

Both the Meizu Note 21 and Note 21 Pro are equipped with large screens with FHD+ resolution. The Note 21 offers a 6.74-inch display with a 90Hz refresh rate, while the Pro model upgrades the display to 6.78 inches with a smoother 120Hz refresh rate. For selfie purposes, the Note 21 includes an 8MP front camera, while the Pro model upgrades to a 13MP sensor.

On the back, the Note 21 is equipped with a 50MP main camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor. The Note 21 Pro steps up the rear camera setup to a 64MP main sensor, while retaining the same 2MP depth sensor.

Meizu has not revealed the specific chipset powering the Note 21, but the Note 21 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99, a processor commonly found in budget smartphones. Both models include 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded via microSD cards.

Despite Meizu’s recent emphasis on AI technology, there is no mention of AI-powered features for either device. However, both phones are expected to run Meizu’s FlymeOS.

Battery configurations differ between the two models. The Note 21 is equipped with a substantial 6,000 mAh battery that supports 18W charging, prioritizing long battery life over charging speed. In contrast, the Note 21 Pro packs a smaller 4,950mAh battery, but makes up for it with faster 30W charging capabilities.

The Meizu 21 is designed with a 6.55-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and exceptionally thin bezels. It is powered by the advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, supported by LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage for enhanced performance. The device is equipped with a 4800 mAh battery that offers 80W fast charging capabilities. On the back, the camera setup consists of a 200MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), an ultra-wide lens 13MP and a 5MP depth sensor. The front camera is 32 MP, which provides excellent quality for selfies. Additional features of the Meizu 21 include an RGB LED ring on the back and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. It will also come with two stereo speakers and an IP54 rating for water and dust resistance.

Meizu has yet to announce specific pricing or release dates for these models. The Note 21 will be available in Gulf Blue, Diamond Black and Ivory, while the Pro will be available in Bay Blue, Sandstone and Marble. The Meizu 21 will be sold in black, purple, green and white. More information is expected soon. Meizu Note 21, Meizu 21 and Meizu Note 21 Pro will hit shelves in several Asia-Pacific markets. It will reach the Latin American, Middle East and CIS regions.
