Size – The first improvement on the list is the available sizes. While the original Pixel Watch and Pixel 2 came in just a 41mm size, the Pixel Watch 3 was able to offer Two models to choose from — the regular 41mm option and a larger 45mm version. Both versions will come in cellular and Wi-Fi-enabled variants. Android Authority said it couldn’t confirm what the larger watch will be called, but some reports say Google will call it Pixel 3 XL watch.
Battery – The larger size should bring a larger battery. The 41mm version could see only a small bump in capacity, from 306mAh to 310mAh, while the 45mm edition could be equipped with a 420mAh battery that promises to last longer without the need for a recharge. Otherwise, both watches will be powered by the 41mm battery. Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 platform with a custom coprocessor.
Bezels – The Pixel Watch 2 was designed with a relatively large 5.5mm bezel, which caused some owners to complain about having such a large frame around the display. Both versions of the Pixel Watch 3 will be slimmer with 4.5mm bezels, giving you a bit more screen real estate.
Show – The display on the third version also promises to be brighter, as both models feature a 2,000-nit display, according to the device’s software. The Pixel Watch 2, by contrast, offers just 1,000 nits. The brighter display should be easier on the eyes, especially in direct sunlight and similar conditions.
Colors – No smartwatch would be complete without a choice of colors. According to information from Android Authority, both sizes of the Pixel Watch 3 will be offered in a black case with an obsidian strap and a silver case with a porcelain strap. The 41mm variant could also come in a silver case with a rose quartz strap and a gold case with a hazel strap, while the 45mm model could be available in a hazel case with a hazel strap.
Price – While the so-called Pixel Watch 3 XL sounds good with its larger size and better battery, one element that may not be so great is the price. According to a report by Dealabs magazine in FrenchThe 45mm edition of the watch will start at €449 ($490) for the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi version and jump to €549 ($600) for the 4G LTE/Bluetooth/Wi-Fi version.
The 41mm Pixel Watch 3 will start at €399 ($436) for the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi version and go up to €499 ($545) for the 4G LTE/Bluetooth/Wi-Fi model. If so, these prices would represent a significant increase over the Pixel Watch 2, which Google and other vendors currently sell for $289.
Ultra-wide – Last but not least is UWB, or ultra widebandUltra-wideband (UWB) radio technology, which consumes little power and has a short range, was used for certain types of connectivity and communications. UWB technology was initially planned to be incorporated into the Pixel Watch 2, but it fell through. Now, UWB technology appears to be all but secured for the Pixel Watch 3, according to Android Authority’s Google source. Recent FCC Listings.
