Yesterday Google finally made the Pixel 9 family official, after months of leaks. And now, the Pixel 9 Pro XL It’s been put through the usual ‘durability test’ by Zack from the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel.
The Pixel 9 Pro XL comes in a new box and also has a new design, with flat sides and a massive 3.5mm-thick camera bump. The phone’s display has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on top, which is made evident by the level 6 hardness rating on the Mohs scale, with deeper grooves starting at level 7.
The frame is metal, of course, with plastic cutouts here and there for the antennas. The camera bump is metal at the edges and on the right end, and above the cameras, of course.

The display can withstand the heat of a cigarette lighter for 30 seconds without damage, something we don’t see very often. Finally, the bending test. The Pixel 9 Pro XL survives being bent from both sides without any issues, so it passes the durability test with flying colors.
