The competition for the best autonomous performance is on and the Dreame L40 Ultra is the latest to enter the race at IFA 2024.
The L40 Ultra robot vacuum and mop offers 11,000Pa of suction and a hands-free self-emptying experience that the company claims can last up to 75 days. The 3.2L dust bag can hold over two months of dust and debris, while the self-cleaning base station washes the mop and washboard.

“Dreame’s cutting-edge technology and engineering are revolutionizing the way consumers achieve a truly effortless cleaning experience, allowing them to focus on what matters most while enjoying a spotless home,” said Ana Wang, General Manager of Dreame Technology North America. “The L40 Ultra exemplifies our commitment to delivering superior cleaning solutions for every living space, from urban apartments to suburban homes. We have once again set the standard in cleaning technology, empowering users to live their lives to the fullest.”
The Dreame L40 Ultra's mops and side brush automatically extend to reach areas that robot vacuums tend to miss, such as corners, the space under cabinets, and low furniture.
The robot vacuum also combines an RGB camera and 3D structured light for navigation, aided by a built-in LED light for seeing in dark areas. In comparison, other robot vacuums rely on LiDAR proximity sensors to navigate in darker environments.

Dreame says the L40 Ultra uses information shown by its camera to identify room types, such as a kitchen or bedroom, flooring types, and stains, and recommend the best cleaning strategy. It's not yet known how security and privacy are handled by this feature, but we'll be sure to test it out soon.
Unlike the flagship Dreame X40 UltraThe L40 Ultra has a built-in voice assistant that you can activate by saying “Ok, Dreame” to control the robot or give it the order to clean. It is also compatible with Alexa, Siri and Google Home.
In this regard, this robot vacuum cleaner seems similar to the X40 Ultra, with powerful suction, a dual flexible arm for mopping, and dirt detection. It is more affordable than the X40 Ultra, as the Dreame L40 Ultra It sells for $1,500. Users can apply a limited-time Amazon coupon to save an additional $200.
