A 707 passenger jet, headed from Athens to Rome and then on to New York, is hijacked by Lebanese terrorists, who demand that the pilot take them to Beirut. What the terrorists don't know is that an elite commando team has been called in to eliminate all the terrorists on board the plane.

Movie Reviews:

  • John Chard: Delta Damage!
  • Delta Force is directed by Menahem Golam and Golam co-wrote the screenplay with James Bruner. It stars Chuck Norris, Lee Marvin, Joey Bishop, Robert Forster, George Kennedy, Robert Vaughn and Shelley Winters. The music is by Alan Silvestri and the photography is by David Gurfinkel.
  • The film is a very loose retelling of the real TWA hijacking in Athens in 1985, done in a purely Hollywood fantasy style. It turned out to be the last film for actor Lee Marvin, who would sadly pass away a year later; unfortunately, this did not turn out to be a proper send-off for him. All the elements were there, an all-star cast headed by one of the action movie stars of the 80s and a hot-topic story ready for serious drama and emotion. Sadly, the film fails to deliver on its promise of anything substantial.
  • However, if you're an action movie fan who isn't the type to get worked up about political correctness, slogans and blatant flag waving, then there's plenty of fun to be had. Stripped of the political aspects (rah rah rah!), it's a Norris caricature, while Marv gets one last decent payday. The action is well-constructed, all mad, gloriously mad, and none more so than when Norris is at the helm. Whether he's kicking ass in hand-to-hand combat or indulging in motorcycle mayhem (rocket launchers, my god!), it's excessively joyous.
  • Yes! There’s plenty of cheese, especially once the human drama of the first hour gives way to macho marauding, while Silvestri’s score is gratingly, irritatingly catchy (it sounds more like it could have been in an 80s Brat Pack movie) and you can’t help but feel annoyed that virtually all the big names in the supporting cast are so wasted. It’s also sad to see a frail Marvin in this, ravaged by years of nicotine and alcohol – that’s not how we want to remember him, and therefore we’re obliged not to.
  • Anyway, forgive its flaws and enjoy its thrilling moment, because you can still have a good time here. That is, if you have a penchant for this type of movies! 6/10
  • Chandler Danier: There are a lot of stunts in this game. A lot of wheelies. The rope over the shoulders as a prop is really cool, as well as the rope with knots to get to hard to reach areas. That's the best stunt. It seems like wheelies are just for show and they're not even that good. My childhood friend could do wheelies that well. He was really good at wheelies though.
  • The way people behave makes it sometimes funny to imagine them in the military. Those people running in the water don't look professional, let alone elite. It's charming in its seriousness. They really believed in this project. A bit long winded.
  • Yes, yes. Radio Canada.
