James Gunn's DC Studios is reportedly developing a new film starring two of the comic book universe's most iconic villains, Bane and Deathstroke. The project, still in its early stages, is part of the continued expansion of Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe.
The Hollywood Reporter brings the news that Bane and Deathstroke will be the central figures in this upcoming DC Universe film after being last seen in The dark knight rises and justice league. The script is being written by Matthew Orton, who is also working on Captain America: Brave New World for Marvel Studios.
While DC Universe fans are excited to see these formidable Batman villains share the screen, no director has yet been attached to the project. Initially a villain of the Teen Titans, he quickly became a prominent antagonist throughout the DC Universe, facing off against heroes such as Batman and the Justice League. Deathstroke has appeared in various media, including live-action roles in Titans and Zack Snyder's DC Extended Universe.
