Apple makes its self-repair diagnostic tool available in Europe

Late last year, Apple gave US users access to a very important tool for self-repair, the Self Service Repair Diagnostics software. Now this software is expanding to 32 European countries (and coming to Canada soon).

This software will help you diagnose and troubleshoot faulty or broken components in one product while running on a second Apple device. It will guide you through the process with on-screen prompts. When you’re done, you’ll know if anything is really broken and what parts you need to order to repair the device.

Granted, you may not have the skills yourself to replace broken parts with new ones, but at least this will confirm that something is broken and needs to be fixed. This tool is also invaluable for unlicensed repair shops, which you can choose instead of a licensed Apple repair center. Apple allows individuals and third-party stores repair iPhones with original parts (and have a service that helps them verify that the parts are really genuine).

It’s not just iPhones, the self-service repair diagnostic tool can also examine Mac and Studio screens. It is now available in 33 countries and 24 languages.

The Self Service Repair program offers access to original parts and tools, as well as manuals for 42 Apple products. Recently, this also includes the new MacBook Airs with M3 chips.
