In the past, if you wanted a backup power system, you might have to rely on gas-powered generators. While they are perfectly functional, they can be quite cumbersome. Some are too large to be portable, and the fact that you need to have gas on hand isn’t always feasible. That’s why power stations like the Ampace Andes 1500 are a good modern alternative.
Fast charging, long battery life.
One of the main features of the Ampace Andes 1500 is the fact that it can be charged quickly. Some power stations can require a couple of hours to fully recharge, but thanks to the use of Ampace’s A-Boost technology, you’ll be able to fully recharge the unit in just 55 minutes! That’s insane!
If you are camping or don’t have much time to stop and charge, 55 minutes is plenty. You can grab a cup of coffee or a meal and when you are done, you are good to go. Additionally, Ampace has included the use of their state-of-the-art BMS technology. The battery has a lifespan of up to 6000 cycles, which is achieved not only through the BMS, but also thanks to the advanced technology Ampace leverages in their battery cells.
If we do a quick calculation, if we recharge the power station on a daily basis, it would take about 16 years to fully deplete the battery life. Chances are we will have upgraded our power station by then. This should give us some peace of mind as to the durability and longevity of the power station battery.
Powerful outputs for all your devices
Now, the whole point of a power station is to charge your devices while you’re on the go without access to a power outlet. In this case, you don’t have to worry about that with the Andes 1500. It features a plethora of ports including 4 AC power outlets, 2 USB-C ports capable of 100W, 4 USB-A ports, 2 DC 5521 ports, and a single car charging port.
With the ability to output up to 2400W of power, it can charge and power virtually anything you need to take with you when you’re on the road. Thanks to A-Turbo technology, it can even boost power up to 3600W. Need to bring a toaster, blender, or coffee maker on a road trip? No problem! It can even power a hot stove so you can cook in the great outdoors.
Users don’t have to worry too much about the environmental conditions they find themselves in either. Ampace claims that the power station can deliver stable power output even in extreme temperatures as low as -20°C and is also IP55 rated in terms of dust and water resistance.
Bet on solar energy
We’ve already mentioned that one of the Ampace Andes 1500’s strong points is that it can be quickly charged in just 55 minutes. To do this, you’ll need to plug it into a power outlet. If you’re at home, this shouldn’t be a problem, but if you’re constantly on the move, it’s not always possible to access a power outlet.
Luckily, Ampace has thought of that and included support for solar charging. You can pair the Andes 1500 with the company’s solar panels, allowing you to harness the sun’s power to offer an alternative form of charging. The unit allows for a maximum solar input of 600W, but keep in mind that solar charging will take a little longer to fully charge the power station – around 3 to 5 hours.
Built with safety
We’ve all seen and heard horror stories about batteries exploding in bags and pockets. If you’re worried about the safety of the Ampace Andes 1500, you don’t have to. For starters, Ampace has used algorithms from the Energy Storage Standard battery management system to power the power station, similar to the algorithms used for large commercial energy storage systems.
They also claim that there are twelve different protection systems to ensure that you can use the power station with peace of mind. This includes over-temperature or under-temperature protection, over-voltage or under-voltage protection, over-current protection, short-circuit protection, and overload protection, to name just a few.
Ampace also uses a third-generation semiconductor material, silicon carbide, which not only makes the battery more efficient, but also makes it run with 20% less heat compared to more traditional components. The company has also designed the power plant using heavy-duty construction with independent core partitions, so there’s not too much worry about it falling over or bumping into objects while moving.
