The follow-up of 2021Ghostbusters: Afterlife‘ sees the Spengler family fully embracing their new life as Ghostbusters, wandering throughout New York City investigating paranormal activity and catching ghosts. With ‘Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire’ grossing over $198.9 million at the global box office, it has become the fourth biggest film of 2024 so far. Despite critics’ low score on Rotten Tomatoes, fans enjoyed the film, earning an audience score of 83%. It’s easy to see why moviegoers enjoyed this chapter in the Ghostbusters franchise. Nostalgia hits hard as the film reunites members of the original Ghostbusters cast as they grab their uniforms and proton packs for another round of Ghostbusters.
While there have been no confirmed plans for the next Ghostbusters movie, it’s clear that the original cast members love being a part of the story and legacy.
Talking with MovieFoneactor Ernie Hudson talks about returning to the role of Winston Zeddmore:
“Well, it’s been more than half my life, 40 years of ‘Ghostbusters.’ I have been Winston Zeddemore to the people I meet on the street and everywhere. So it’s hard to separate myself from the role, and the fact that it’s still around, that people still love it, everywhere I go in the world, ‘Ghostbusters’ fans will show up and tell me how much the movie has meant to me. . them and their families. Then yes. It’s very exciting and I’m very grateful that it has relevance 40 years after the fact. There was no way I could have imagined this would be happening. But it is happening and it is wonderful. As an actor, I’ve done a lot of movies over the years and it’s great to have one that people really connect with and hold onto.”
