See the biggest showcase deal in ‘The Price is Right’ history

The price is good has been on the air in some form since 1972, and that’s a revival of a show that originally aired in the 1950s and 1960s. So we’re talking over 50 years of episodes. There are thousands of shows and thousands of Showcases, the climactic battle between the two winning contestants of each show to see who can take home even more fabulous prizes.

But today’s Showcase was special.

On the June 7, 2024 episode of The price is good, contestant Patrice Masse of Grande Prairie, Alberta, was one dollar away – just one dollar! – To guess exactly her Showcase. When she did, host Drew Carey paused, seemingly speechless at the gravity of the moment that had just occurred. He can see her checking his card to make sure he correctly read the information on it. He then he explained. Masse had bid $39,500, while the actual retail price of her Showcase was…$39,501.

And then almost everyone present lost their minds. Carey called it “the best showcase deal in the history of the program, in my opinion.”

You can watch the clip of this mind-blowing moment below.

By bidding within $250 of the actual retail price, Masse won both Showcases, including prizes such as a new Kia, a motorcycle, and trips to Milan, Hawaii, and Miami. His grand total earnings on the show were a whopping $83,068.

While it was an incredible achievement, it technically may not be the “best” or most “perfect” offering in the history of The price is good. In fact, people have guessed (or perhaps “guessed”) the exact price of Showcase before, in times of some controversy, which is chronicled in the documentary. Tonight could be a good night to see Perfect offer if you’ve never seen it. It is currently streaming on several services, including Prime Video, Peacock, and Tubi.
