Galaxy AI played a vital role in this year’s Galaxy Unpacked event that brought the Galaxy S24 line to market. Galaxy AI is Samsung’s solution to deliver AI enhancements for a better user experience. Initially, it was limited to the Galaxy S24 line. But now Samsung is rolling it out to other devices as well. The latest news is that Samsung has officially confirmed Galaxy AI for its next-generation foldable smartphones.
In a blog post published on Samsung official website, Samsung Executive Vice President and Head of Mobile Research and Development Office of Mobile eXperience Business, Won-Joon Choi, shared his thoughts on Galaxy AI for its devices. The blog post includes many details about Galaxy AI, including its implementation in upcoming foldable devices. Samsung’s executive vice president says:
To deliver a completely new and unique AI experience, we will further optimize the Galaxy AI experience for upcoming foldable devices.
So, this is a big indication that Galaxy AI will be the highlight for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6. At the Galaxy S24 series event, we saw that Samsung emphasized Galaxy AI a lot. The same can happen with foldable phones. However, as Won-Joon Choi mentioned, the Galaxy AI experience will be more optimized for foldable devices.
Samsung also mentions a “hybrid AI approach.” This means that it uses cloud-based and on-device AI features in a good balance. With on-device AI improvements, users can be assured of privacy and better responsiveness. While cloud-based AI can offer many more features in collaboration with industry-leading partners.
