What do we know about Monster Hunter Wilds?
Capcom showed off the game during Sony’s recent State of Play event. Monster Hunter Wilds players take on the role of a professional monster hunter accompanying an expedition to the Forbidden Lands. The trailer focused on a region called Windward Plains, a vast expanse of desert and grasslands. Monsters include the small, wivern-like Dalthydon, the horn-backed Ceratonoths, the enormous, lion-like Doshaguma, and the armored, frog-like Chatacabra.
“Monster Hunter Wilds flows seamlessly from story sequences into gameplay to tell the dynamic and engrossing story of the hunter who leads the Forbidden Lands Investigation Commission while exploring vibrant ecosystems filled with monsters and extreme environments,” says Capcom. . In Windward Plains, hunters begin to unravel the many mysteries contained within the Forbidden Lands, such as the massive crescent-shaped mountain that dominates the landscape. That journey will force players to team up with other Hunters to discover the relationship between this world and the people who inhabit it, fighting shoulder to shoulder against new and fearsome enemies.
The game will be on Gamescom Opening Night Live, along with the title’s first playable demo on the Gamescom 2024 show floor.
