As for what Tish, 57, said to Miley, the Disney Channel alum revealed that her mother once told her, “Okay, but don’t tell anyone because I’m a good Christian woman.”
“But she loved it,” Miley added of her mother. “She had a great time and since then she smokes marijuana.”
Tish appeared on the special with David Letterman also. At one point, she remembered what her “biggest fear” was when Miley was growing up and rising to fame.
“Honestly, I think my biggest fear was her moving away,” Tish said. “She definitely had the financial means to be able to move before she was 18, and you see that a lot with children in Hollywood. But she didn’t do it. “I think I really picked my battles with her.”
In addition to Hannah Montana student, Tish also shares Noah, Brandi, Trace and Braison Ciro with ex husband Billy Ray Cyrus.
During the special with David, Miley also opened up about his rumored estrangement from his 62-year-old father. While she called Tish her “hero,” the former Disney Channel star credited Billy for helping her as an artist. However, she noted that she “inherited narcissism from [her] father.”
“I’m grateful to be able to see it in front of me,” Miley said. “He almost gave me this map. And there is a map of what to do and what not to do, and he has guided me through both.”
