Greatness recognized greatness in a special moment on Tuesday during Justin Timberlake‘s Madison Square Garden show.
Timberlake paused during his set to acknowledge the film director Martin Scorsese.
“I hope this doesn’t embarrass you too much, but I’m sorry, I have to do this,” Timberlake said. “The GOAT came to see me, the one and only Martin Scorsese. There are so many family and friends, but… I also see some new faces.”
Scorsese took it in stride, smiling, waving and fiddling with his glasses. He received a standing ovation.
Timberlake’s wife, Jessica Biel, was also spotted in the crowd. She has one more show with MSG tonight at the Garden.
The shows capped an eventful period for Timberlake, who was arrested last week on suspicion of driving under the influence.
