James Gunn’s ‘Superman’ Movie Features Key Daily Planet Characters

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Mikaela Hoover will play Cat Grant, an experienced Daily Planet journalist. She is joined by newcomer Christopher McDonald, who enters the world of Metropolis as Ron Troupe, a key reporter for the Daily Planet.

The expansion follows the casting of veteran actor Wendell Pierce as Perry White and Saturday night live Student Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard. Pierce, known for his dominant roles in The wire and Suits, will take on the role of editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet. Meanwhile, Bennett is expected to add a humorous touch to the newsroom as Lombard.

Superman It is currently in production and more than half of the shoot. This film marks the first in the new DC Universe overseen by DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran.
