Every Pixar Sequel Ranked, From Worst to Best


About ten years ago, you started listening to it: for a long time pixar Fans complained that the company had burned out, bowed to corporate pressure, and abandoned its long-standing commitment to originality in favor of a series of sequels.

Yes, Pixar has made its fair share of sequels now. But as of this writing, they only represent nine of the company’s 28 functions, and that includes Inside out 2. That It turns out that just under one in three movies is a sequel.

That’s nothing. But you also have to keep in mind that many of those sequels are quite good. One or two might be among the best movies Pixar has ever made. And five of the nine sequels they’ve made come from just two of Pixar’s 19 different film series: toy story and Cars. So it’s not like they’re spinning all They become franchises forever. (It is true that they are working on another Toy story. And if you want to tell Light-year like some kind of sequel, so I guess that’s another one too).

So what’s Pixar’s batting average like in the sequels? Let’s take a look ranking each of its sequels to date, from worst (i.e. cars 2, of course) to the best. And yes, I included Monsters University, although it is technically a prequel and not a sequel. Since it was designed to turn a big single Pixar film into a bigger franchise, it seemed wrong not to include it there.
