One of the biggest killers of storage units is heat. The faster the drive, the more waste heat it generates. And the CS3150 is a fast drive. Sequential read and write speeds of 11,500 MB/s and 8,500 MB/s, respectively.
To keep temperatures at a manageable level, the CS3150 not only features a massive heatsink, but also two cooling fans.

I tested the unit using crystal disc brand and monitored temperatures using CrystalDiskInfoand despite my relentless beating of the CS3150, I was unable to get temperatures to exceed the 70°C/158°F maximum operating temperature.
Please note that the fans require a free set of 4-pin fan header pins on the motherboard.
This unit is fairly new, so there aren’t many reviews on it yet, but the ones I’ve seen suggest it lives up to the hype.
