Dead Mail filmmakers Kyle McConaghy and Joe DeBoer sign with Aperture Ent.


EXCLUSIVE: Adam Goldworm's Opening entertainment has signed Kyle McConaghy and Joe De Boera Missouri film duo whose acclaimed horror thriller Dead mail will soon have its Canadian premiere in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto Film Festival.

A mainstay on the genre's festival circuit since its premiere this year at SXSW, Dead mail It’s won several awards, including Best Film and Best Director at the UK Fright Fest, and is currently rated 100% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. Still seeking distribution, the film sees a sinister note for help arrive at a 1980s post office, connecting a dead letter investigator with a kidnapped keyboard technician. We’re told the viewing experience is like finding an old Fincher VHS, lost in time, in the back of your 1980s video store.

McConaghy and DeBoer's 2020 directorial debut, Babywon the Best Film award at the Goosebumps Film Festival. This year, McConaghy also premiered Sheep's clothingan acclaimed micro-budget thriller, which he co-wrote, directed and shot. In addition to his film career, DeBoer is co-owner and creative director of Experience Fresh, a full-service creative agency based in St. Louis.
