While the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold It hasn’t shipped yet, but one lucky person has already gotten their hands on an obsidian-colored unit and has thankfully unboxed it on Reddit for the world to see.
The crease out of the box seems significantly improved compared to the original. Pixel fold‘s, although it is still very much present. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold also ships unfolded inside the box, unlike its predecessor which came folded.
Speaking of which, the same Reddit user has also posted a full photoshoot comparing Google’s new foldable smartphone to Google’s old foldable smartphone side-by-side. The different aspect ratio of the new device is very obvious, as is its larger size.

This change also makes the Pixel 9 Pro Fold feel much more like a generic, less upscale foldable smartphone than its predecessor. But this should have a silver lining: apps will struggle less on the foldable display.
