This year Event created by GoogleGoogle announced its latest hardware, including the Pixel 9 line. Smartphones are naturally packed with new AI features, and as with previous Google releases, some of the most notable features are related to photo editing.
A good camera is only part of what it takes to capture great photos, as factors like framing, lighting, background, and photographer are equally important. That’s where these new AI features can help.

1. Add me
If you’re not in a photo, it might be because you took it yourself. With Google’s new Add Me feature, you can use AI to edit yourself to appear in the photo. The feature will merge a group photo with a photo from the photographer alone to create a new image of everyone together.

You can then combine the feature with the Best Take feature that launched with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro last year. With Best Take, you can select your favorite expressions for each person from a series of similar photos. The combination of both features should ensure that everyone has a result they like, even if it wasn’t how the photo was originally taken.
2. Reimagine
In the era of Generative AIthere wouldn’t really be an AI feature launch if a AI Image Generator It wasn’t included somehow. Reimagine is a feature that lets you add effects and edit existing photos easily through simple text prompts and the power of generative AI.

All you have to do is tap the area you want to change and type in what you want to see. Some example prompts could be “add sunset” or “make the grass greener.”
3. Updated Magic Editor
Magic Editor has new AI-powered features. Now, it can automatically reframe your photo, suggest the best crop, and even zoom in on your image to get more out of your shot. This particular feature is helpful when a photo you took has potential, but the framing wasn’t ideal.

This adds to the already extensive set of editing tools available in Magic Editor, such as the ability to delete and move objects, edit backgrounds, and more.
