When is The Accountant 2’s release date?
Amazon MGM Studios has announced the release date for The Accountant 2 for April 25, 2025. The sequel will have a full theatrical release, just like the original film. It arrives one week before Marvel’s Thunderbolts*. Joining Affleck is a cast that includes Jon Bernthal (The Punisher), JK Simmons (Whiplash), Cynthia Addai-Robinson (Spartacus), Daniella Pineda (Cowboy Bebop), Allison Robertson (Fear to Be Brave), Robert Morgan (Babylon) and Grant Harvey (Emancipation).
“When her former boss is murdered by unknown assassins, Treasury agent Marybeth Medina (Addai-Robinson) is forced to turn to Christian Wolff (Affleck) to solve the murder,” the synopsis reads. “With the help of her estranged but deadly brother Brax (Bernthal), Chris applies her brilliant mind and less-than-legal methods to piece together the unsolved puzzle. As they get closer to the truth, the trio attracts the attention of some of the world’s most ruthless assassins, all determined to put an end to her search.”
What do we know about The Accountant 2?
Gavin O’Connor, who directed the first film and also worked with Affleck on 2020’s The Way Back, is directing The Accountant 2. O’Connor also directed 2004’s Miracle, 2011’s Warrior and 2015’s Jane Got a Gun, among other titles. Bill Dubuque wrote the screenplay.
Affleck and Matt Damon are producing The Accountant 2 (originally slated for release by Warner Bros. but later moved to Amazon MGM Studios) alongside Lynette Howell Taylor and Mark Williams. Dani Bernfeld, Kevin Halloran, Michael Joe, Alison Winter, Scott Lastaiti and Jamie Patricof serve as executive producers.
