Keke Palmer’s mother says Dan Schneider’s Nickelodeon sets were weird and ‘cult-like’

Keke PalmerThe mother of is remembering the atmosphere on the sets of Dan Schneider‘s Nickelodeon show… and she says things felt really weird.

Keke’s mom, Sharon Palmerrecalled her experiences with Schneider on the latest episode of Keke’s podcast, “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer.”

Sharon says… “My honest opinion is that I thought the whole atmosphere on Dan Schneider’s set was very strange, very sectarian. The parents were very secretive and I honestly thought everyone took themselves way too seriously.”

Keke starred in her own Nickelodeon show, “True Jackson, VP” from 2008 to 2011… Schneider was not involved with Keke’s show, but was producing 3 other shows at the time… “Zoey 101”, “iCarly” and “Victorious”.

Of course, Sharon’s account follows more serious allegations against Dan on ‘Quiet on Set,’ where he and other adults are accused of misconduct including sexual harassment and writing jokes inappropriate for minors.

For his part, Dan denied these claims.

He has acknowledged that some of the material he wrote at the time was inappropriate, but has also… Suing the producers of ‘Quiet on Set’ for defamation, claiming he was painted as a predator, which he says is a load of nonsense.

Sharon doesn’t specify which sets Schneider was involved with, but some of the allegations against him stem from his involvement in “Zoey 101″… which was filming around the same time Keke’s show was starting.
