Say hello to the OnePlus Pad 2: the global variant of what Chinese customers call the OnePlus Pad Pro.
The back of the tablet comes with a matte finish that is very pleasant to the eye and especially to the touch.
In Europe, the tablet ships with a USB-C to USB-A cable and nothing else. It supports 67W charging, but you’ll need to bring your own charger.
If you want to take full advantage of the OnePlus Pad 2’s productivity potential, you can buy the $150 Smart Keyboard, which includes a full set of keys and a touchpad that’s twice the size of the OnePlus Pad’s keyboard. There’s also the $100 Stylo 2, which vibrates.
The keyboard feels premium. It connects via pogo pins and supports Bluetooth. The keyboard has a built-in 205mAh battery and weighs 504g. If you attach it to the tablet, the whole thing becomes too heavy to even place on your lap and we’d say a desk becomes a necessity.

The Smart Keyboard allows you to adjust the tilt of the screen. When you close the tablet with the keyboard, the flap between the two feels a bit loose and out of place.
We tested the OnePlus Pad 2’s six-speaker setup and have to say we’re impressed. Coupled with the solid 12.1-inch 2120 x 3000 pixel IPS LCD display, we’d say the OnePlus Pad 2 is a winner for media consumption.
It’s no surprise that the OnePlus Pad 2 performs smoothly, given that it packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with up to 12GB of RAM.
It uses the same multitasking as the OnePlus Open, which is surprising on the larger screen.

Lastly, the tablet doesn’t have a fingerprint scanner, which isn’t ideal. Not so much for security reasons, but if you have multiple accounts on it, you’ll have to type in passcodes or a PIN every time you unlock it.
That’s all the hands-on time we have with the OnePlus Pad for now. Stay tuned for more information on it in the coming weeks!
