Gina Carano has every right to be enraged at the Hollywood machine.
An industry that had embraced her as a rising star changed its tune when she began sharing “uncomfortable” opinions. These opinions challenged the progressive playbook and she was infamously criticized. Fired from Disney+’s “The Mandalorian” despite being a fan favorite.
The dispute is working through the legal processbut continues to defend free speech on Elon Musk’s X. That includes a fellow Disney star who shares diametrically opposed positions to hers.
Mark Ruffalo, famous for his role in “Avengers,” shared an ominous post suggesting that a Hitler-like force is emerging across the country. We all know what that means.
It’s far more explosive than the post that led to Carano’s firing. The actress and former MMA star criticized Ruffalo’s message without attacking her colleague.
She had a more important point to share.
The double standard is there for all to see. It is a recurring and obvious theme in Hollywood.
There are plenty of examples, like the one below of Mark Ruffalos, that prove this. By the way, I think he should have the right to express himself without being fired, although I am embarrassed… https://t.co/aWXfvBLZHK

“The double standard is there for all to see. It’s a recurring and glaring theme in Hollywood,” Carano began X’s lengthy post.
He pointed to Ruffalo’s far-left beliefs, including the incendiary post that indirectly targets Donald Trump. He said the Hulk actor has every right to express his opinions “without getting fired.”
“He is an actor, but he is a human being who is passionately involved in something he is passionate about. It must be a nice feeling to be able to express yourself so freely. Not everyone in this country has that privilege without having everything they love taken away from them.”
Carano tagged both Disney and Lucasfilm, the targets of her recent lawsuit, in the post.
“We can have conversations where we disagree, in fact, we might learn something from each other through more conversations. Conversation over cancellation.”
She is right in more ways than one.

Some stars can do or say offensive things and never face professional punishment. Think Bette Midler, Ellen Barkin, Alec Baldwin, Jimmy Kimmel and more.

Ezra Miller’s off-screen criminal record didn’t stop the actor from appearing in “The flash.”
They are all left-wing, which gives them the kind of protection Carano lacks. The MMA star is not openly conservative, nor does she use social media to attract followers to one party over another.
She is a free thinker and that does not deserve any professional compensation, except that that is the current situation inside and sometimes outside of Hollywood.
