Rudy Giuliani has just lost his license to practice law in New York State.
The former New York City mayor was disbarred by a New York appeals court, on the recommendation of the State Bar, after his license to practice law was suspended for making “demonstrably false and misleading statements” about the 2020 presidential election.

The court lays out a long list of false statements Giuliani has made publicly since the 2020 election; in total, there have been 20 disciplinary charges based on those statements. One of the more colorful comments… the Grievance Committee found that Giuliani had falsely stated that a vote had been cast in Philadelphia in the name of the late boxing champion. Joe Frazier.
Giuliani eventually had to admit that no such vote had been cast, saying he had relied on a blogger’s comment when he told the lie.
He also admits that in more than a dozen other cases, he regurgitated false information from various sources — but insists he thought it was true when he said it. The court did not accept that excuse.
When the State Bar Association Giuliani’s license suspendeddetermined that his actions posed “an immediate threat” to the public and had also “directly inflamed” tensions that led to the January 6 insurrection.
The former federal prosecutor for the Southern District of New York has been criminally charged in Arizona for allegedly conspiring to overturn the 2020 election. He has pleaded not guilty.
