Amitabh Bachchan Plays God Cameo in ‘Fakt Purusho Maate’ Sequel

Indian cinema legend Amitabh Bachchan has played a cameo in the upcoming sequel “Fakt Purusho Maate”.

The Gujarati film is a sequel to the 2022 hit “Fakt Mahilao Maate”, where he had a lead role. In that film, a young man discovers that he is able to read the thoughts of all women and decides to use this power to help others with their relationship problems.

The sequel is a family drama that focuses on gender equality and conflicts between two generations. Bachchan, revered in the Indian film industry, will play God in the film. This is not Bachchan’s first time playing God: he previously played the role in “God Tussi Great Ho” (2008).

“Fakt Purusho Maate” is produced by Anand Pandit and Vaishal Shah and is written and directed by Jay Bodas and Parth Trivedi. The cast also includes Yash Soni, Mitra Gadhvi, Esha Kansara and Darshan Jariwala.

Pandit previously produced “Chehre” (2021), starring Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi.

Pandit said, “We shot with Mr. Bachchan on June 6 and everyone on the set was amazed by his energy, dedication, legendary professionalism and larger than life presence. He was also a very special part of ‘Fakt Mahilao Maate’ and to be honest, it’s hard for me to imagine a project without him. “Anyone who has worked with him once wants to work with him again and again.”

Shah added: “Mr. Bachchan plays a very interesting role in this sequel to ‘Fakt Mahilao Maate’ and is in a way central to the way the story unfolds. His enduring stardom is a phenomenon that cannot be expressed in words and this film will once again show why he remains a legend.”

Bachchan is currently in “The Umesh Chronicles”, which is currently on the festival circuit. He is one of the protagonists of the science fiction epic “Kalki 2898 AD”, which will be released on June 27.

“Fakt Purusho Maate” is scheduled to release in late August, during the Janmashtami holidays.
